Samara Addai
Producer | Cinematographer
Samara has been surrounded within film related environments and grew her love for the art from the inspiration of her father’s collection. With practical experience of over 5 years, Samara has implemented film as a high form of expression for hard hitting messages and communication with niche audiences. Her connection with arthouse cinema provides alternative ways of film language on screen, whilst directing and producing short films, music videos and scriptwriting collaborations. Currently, Samara is a freelancing cinematographer who is working her way to building To The Thrones Pictures; a film production company that explores themes of race, gender and sexuality through the inclusivity of their protagonists.
Samara has joined the filming industry as an addition for her passion to work towards social and political equilibrium of all societies. Birthed from a Filipino and Ghanaian background, she has been exposed to the ways of non-western cultures and the importance of women within them. Her fight towards strengthening this platform is something she seeks through the craft of film, and within that, the education of the people to jump on board.

Loussin - Torah Pilikian
Production assistant
After graduating from The University of York with a BA (Hons) in Philosophy Loussin-Torah Pilikian is pursuing a career in the creative arts. Following graduation, she worked as a TA across primary schools, whilst taking an Access to HE Diploma in Drama, two evenings and one morning a week. Amidst the study of various practitioners, she found aspects of Jerzy Grotowski's "Theater Lab", to be the most challenging, thought-provoking, freeing and truly inspiring studies of naturalism in theater, paying particular attention to "The Plastiques". Since then, she took a break, did some self-exploration, through work, travel and the study of Yoga. In Rishikesh, India, Loussin-Torah found greater inspiration to write poetry and songs based on concepts of personal identity, love and the nature of travelling alone. Loussin is to perform in a theater production with The Minerva Collective for a contemporary piece of new writing, Foodie throughout January. Working on Night Wave was Loussin-Torah's first opportunity as a production assistant and she does hope to co-produce and take on some more directing opportunities throughout the year!
Being an actress of Jamaican-Armenian descent in a creative industry is important to Loussin-Torah. "Increasing diversity within the industry is paramount to historical truism and authentic story-telling. It must no longer about giving people opportunities for the sake of statistics. Art has the ability to flip our perspective of how we interpret others; socially, politically and economically. We mustn't be afraid to know who we are and where we come from and just how much we have contributed to an ever-changing society. Marginalized groups have been denied this opportunity for years, so it's time to acknowledge this, recognize our behaviors and learn to accept one another, as opposed to toleration."
